The series Projection was born as an abstract exploration of the different possibilities of the portrait. It is with this series that the leap in my work takes place in which I stop painting eyes, expanding the expression beyond the gaze, and searching in the gesture for the different faces of the same essential human being.
 
Number IX of this series is, in fact, the reinterpretation in oil of an old charcoal drawing that I keep in one of my sketchbooks. In this case, I explore a slightly more figurative dimension, reflecting also in the series that other facet, projection, of myself.
