The gorilla is one of the animals I always include in my collections. Through it, very deep emotions can be suggested. That is why, unlike my human portraits, in the gorilla's face I always place the gaze as the central focus of the artwork.
But, this time, those eyes are not looking at you. Meraki is absorbed in his own thoughts, accepting your existence without considering it. I suppose he conceives us as a silent companion, the kind where nothing more than presence is needed.
