This oil on paper began as a study of style and color for a large format urban landscape. The intention was to discover how to capture certain effects of light on different surfaces and the chromaticism and contrasts produced by doing so. Each of the painted images are based on references photographed by friends of mine or myself, as well as personal editions of found photographs. In the end, I never got to paint the work in large format, and this paper became the documentation of a personal process of creating from spontaneity and expressive freedom.
