A play of light and shadow, textures and shapes that allow a face to emerge. The intention is that figure and background are a whole, but that our gaze can separate them. 
It has so many details and brushstrokes that every day you look at it you will discover new stories in it. My intention in this type of portrait is that, whatever you see from afar, as you get closer, the painting becomes progressively more complex and interesting.
