In this work I have painted dragonflies for the first time. Photographed by me during my walks in the gardens, they have always inspired me as a source of life, as a reminder of the subtle and the fascinating.
 
Dragonflies possess an iridescent quality that makes them shine brightly in the sun, merging with the sparkle of the water. To represent this property, I have used gold oil paint throughout the canvas.
It was also the first time I worked on a circular support. The idea of the cycle of life was important to me within the narrative of this collection, and this format allowed me to reinforce it.
