The work 'Night' is truly introspective. Few people imagine what is behind that image and its meaning.

Years ago, when I was still in my university days, I attended a course in which I participated in a guided meditation. In it, there was a moment in which I entered a cabin in the middle of the mountain where someone very special gave me an amulet, a very important object for me that contained the essence of my inner being. The shape of the object that we received had to be imagined by each one of the assistants, it was something very personal that came from our unconscious.

Shortly after this experience, I visited a museum where I found, unintentionally, the exact object that I had seen in my mind during the meditation. It was a small ball of stone, round and polished, with shiny brownish tones.

I wanted to represent this experience in this work through the balls held in the figure's arms. Thus, I placed them as a symbol of the unconscious and our inner life. The work is titled 'Night' in reference to that moment of the day when our mind opens completely and manifests itself with total freedom, like a portal to our deepest and most original self. The flowers are the ideas, the creativity that is born from this state, and the moth, as the nocturnal animal that it is, comes to remember and symbolize the whole context.

Therefore, this work is an ode to the subconscious, which is released during the darkest hours to let the true clarity of our being emerge.
